The Project

Overview

The Riverwalk Composting Program is a program made for students who eat! Whether they cook from their apartments or order in, certain food items can now be composted through this program. Currently, the composting program is only available to Riverwalk residents. Through this program though, IUPUI Sustainability and its partners hope to expand to other IUPUI residencies.

What I needed to do

For this composting program, I was tasked with creating several graphics that gave students a clear image of what our program was. I had to make sure students knew what composting was, how they could compost, and what they could and couldn't compost.

Here's a small list of some of the tasks I handled for this program:

• Sorting information from program partners to determine what information was most important.

• Incorporating information into graphics while also following IUPUI's (strict) branding guidelines.

• Researching imagery that needed to be copyright-free while also preserving the artistry of the photographers.

• Using Adobe Photoshop to create graphics and making sure they are aesthetically pleasing but also straight-forward and concise.

• Working with other IUPUI Sustainability coworkers to configure writing and making sure all information was correct.

But Before all That...

Before the composting program really started to take off, there was a time that IUPUI Sustainability met with our partners to discuss what we wanted the Riverwalk Composting Program to be. I was very fortunate to meet our partners for the program: Earth Momma Compost, RHA and GPSG. I feel very thankful to have helped contribute to an exciting program!
